Asked Trade Questions
Can the Trade Partner Program apply to photographer partners outside
the UK?
Yes. All our shipping is handled by secure international shipper - usually
TNT International. You may find international duties apply if outside
European Union - please contact your local customs office for certainty.
Do you have sales quotas for partners?
No heavy pressure here. We set a standard of reaching of 3 or 4 orders
per month, more during the Christmas season. We deter partners who apply
to the program only to try to receive purchases at wholesale prices by
reserving the right to charge full price on their initial order if there
is no repeat business.
What if my business does not meet quota each month?
It is okay if your business occasionally does not meet quota each month.
We are more concerned about your business's sales over time. If your business
has not ordered in 3 months, we would then call you to see what may be
the problem as well as suggest any marketing strategies to assist your
sales. If after this effort your business's sales do not improve, we will
then discuss if the program is still a good fit for your business.
I need to have an idea of what our wholesale cost will be, do you have
a list you can send me or your prices?
A Confidential Wholesale Price List is available in our Trade Partner
System. You have to be an approved partner to see this due to proprietary
information. Wholesale pricing is up to 40% off our current retail prices.
Most partners double the price or charge even more for the premium in
the product.
How will you Invoice?
The invoices are generated automatically in the system purchase by purchase.
They have the legal requirements of VAT invoices.
How much are samples?
Business samples are charged at the same wholesale cost. All partners
are expected to purchase a minimum of 3 assorted samples for an adequate
representation.
Can you send goods direct to customer?
Yes this is part of our service - we will fulfill the order to the destination
delivery address you specify in the order. And it goes with a despatch
note in your branding.

Yes if you wish - we will fulfill the order to the destination delivery
address you specify in the order process.
What about despatch notes - will they have Contrado logos all over
them?
No all our Trade Partner System orders are despatched with no reference
to us (save for the postal return address for Special Delivery or Courier
account paperwork). The despatch note has your logo on it if you uploaded
logo into your Trade Account.
What paperwork goes out with the order?
There is only one sheet that goes out with the order - the despatch note.
If you have set your despatch note preference with your logo on the TPS
then that will appear on the despatch note that goes with your order.
Can I brand my orders?
Yes, if you have set your despatch note preference with your logo on the
TPS then that will appear on the despatch note that goes with your order.
What is the turn around on all orders?
All orders are estimated to arrive within 7-28 days depending on which
item you ordered to UK (+2 extra days international) from when complete
order is received.
Refunds?
Due to the personalisation of the products, we do not offer any refund
except where goods are physically faulty - i.e. a tangible fault. All
sales are final. See also Returns.
Colour Management?
We do not do any additional colour management to your images. Please bear
in mind that many of our print techniques onto various substrates will
not stand technical analysis to determine colour correctness. We print
using deep fibre sublimation on many of the fabrics and whilst extremely
close and ideal for our purposes, you may find marginal colour variation.
We will not refund for marginal variation. We print black and white as
greyscale.
What printing considerations are there?
Due to the nature of printing onto fabric, we DO NOT guarantee the exact
colour matching for images on fabrics. Many factors come into play when
printing your images onto fabric. Bear in mind seam allowances and handle
holes on bags and wrap allowances on canvasses.
What do I need to take into account regarding the subject of the photo?
When you choose your photo, make sure the subject is clear and has enough
room around it to fit the shape of the bag. Please bear in mind that there
is approximately 1cm of the fabric print that gets stitched into bag items
by hand on all four sides. Please be sure to avoid any key subject at
the very edge of the photo. The eyelet handle holes must also be taken
into consideration. We do our very best to avoid eyelets landing on any
key features, but it is worth noting this point at the stage of choosing
your photo.

About a eighth of the way down from top and one third of the way in from
sides on big bag. One-quarter way in on small bag.
Can I charge the customer any retail amount for the items?
Yes. Although a customer may see the same type of handbag on any Contrado
web site, your images or service will be why they purchase the product
through your business.
Can I have my own labels?
Sorry not inside the bags. You can watermark any images in any way you
like for any of the products.
Can I offer all the Contrado items to my customers?
Yes, you may offer all the items seen on our websites to your customers.
What shipping courier do you use?
All orders are sent either RM Signed For or in some instances Special
Delivery. Generally they arrive next working day. Orders over 2KG are
sent City Link Next Working Day delivery. International are sent by TNT
- generally next day into EU or East coast USA, or 2-3 days rest of world.
Can my business submit orders for third parties?
Yes within reason for example to a small local businesses, but a third
party business is not exclusive to you. If they look hard they will probably
find us. If in doubt please discuss third party orders with us. We do
not allow you to license or offer distribution rights for the resale of
our products and services. If you have any significant businesses that
approach you for significant account business, please talk to us.
Can a Partner request "Rush Service" for their order?
No, all orders are treated equally on a first in first out basis. Please
do not ask for special treatment, but rest assured no one is queue jumping
you. Please DO NOT give customer's exact dates of arrival. Just explain
the lead times.
Can you guarantee delivery by exact dates?
Not always but we try to accommodate. Please do not push for timescales
shorter than our published times. Due to the many details that go into
producing our goods, we cannot guarantee an exact date for delivery until
very near completion.
Can the customer pay extra for Overnight Shipping or Expedited Shipping?
Yes. Indicate this to us and we can have the order sent either special
Delivery or even same day by bike courier if in region of London UK. This
would cost you more.
It has been over timescale and the customer has not received their
order?
This may be due to the demand of services. Please contact us and we can
update you. You may always contact us via email to check on the progress
of your handmade item.
Marketing Materials? Do you provide images and copy?
Yes we have provided an image bank where you can select any images to
help you promote the products. High or Low res. Naturally you can photograph
your own samples. You can use any copy from our sites relating to the
items you are selling restricted only to the use of promoting Contrado

DESIGNING
Will Contrado provide templates for the products?
Yes for items where templates are required e.g. bags to see handle holes
and seam allowance. You will need PhotoShop to benefit from the templates.
Do I have to have the ability to render my images in Photoshop?
Yes this is useful if you want things done your way. However we will do
our usual treatments otherwise. This allows all partners to have more
control on how their image will look on the bag.
Can I supply original photos?
Yes - order though the TPS and elect to post them to us - but we prefer
digital files or scans on CD if you have to post.
What type of file do you want it saved as?
Please save your images as a .jpg or .tiff file.
Can I put my business's logo on my images?
Yes inside your images but not your own garment label on bags or cushions.
Will Contrado Imaging Ltd. be using its own logo on my images?
No. Contrado Imaging Ltd. will not be placing it's logo on the actual
image.
