Dispatch Manager

Position Title:

Dispatch Manager


Overall Purpose of the Role:

You will be a part of the production warehouse team and you will lead the packing department in a manner that ensures the product is dispatched on time, collected and delivered in the most cost-efficient manner. You will have to meet the standards required for our Customers, Company and Site.


Principle Accountability & Responsibilities:

  • Coach, manage and develop Supervisor and team to optimise performance and meet targets.
  • Challenge established work pattern to bring costs down
  • To complete all paperwork and procedures relating to dispatched finished goods including accurate loading and key management
  • Knowledge to pack carefully, swiftly to increase customer experience and keep costs down
  • Streamline to ensure no orders are mixed when orders are prepared
  • Report issues and solutions to management in order to keep reducing overdues
  • Organise the department to help pack faster and better & reduce mixed orders to nil

Must Have:

  • Understand the importance of selecting the right carrier company for each delivery.
  • Understanding of Shift and rota management
  • Team management experience is essential.
  • Understanding of volumetric weight vs actual weight and related costs

Good To Have:

  • Knowledge of DHL, Royal Mail, FedEx systems is a plus
  • Ability to thrive under pressure.

Years of Experience Required:

  • A minimum of 5 Years Experience as a Despatch Manager for running £3m-£10 dispatch
