The Job

We are adding a new role to our AMD offices; an independent and autonomous IT Recruiter with an open brief to attract 20 – 30 new .net developers and related product lifecycle roles amounting to 40 new hires in the next 12-24 months. Consequently, this role is full time as a dedicated person to seek and acquire the services of a targeted type of web developer in a narrow range of technologies mainly .net, at Senior and Mid-Level but also including pipeline of for fresh young talent, and also highest level Lead Architects.

This new role of internal IT Recruiter requires a proactive approach, confidence and cool decision making. The right person must be able to chase down leads, get out to see people, conduct deep research, investigate and be a detective. Must be persuasive to sell the big Contrado future to the new developer talents, as well as converse about the IT dev infrastructure we operate.

The Recruiter must initiate mapping out the local market landscape and be able to spot opportunities before other recruiters do. It’s a highly competitive sector. We need to identify the other companies and stealthily follow and approach talent, quiz each candidate, listen for leads. Find out which start-ups are failing, hear about which teams are not innovating, and pitch in aggressively to pick up talent that are motivated to change to a more progressive company like Contrado. This is research work, listening and following leads, plus make a pipeline with Uni interns for live projects.

Will have to get out into the field, meeting talent in cafes or near workplaces to do the best research.

Would need to know and be able to discuss the core technologies, in name and basic detail, so can read a candidate’s CV and talk to them about our technology environment. Need to be IT confident.

This person must be able to map and track all .net developers in AMD. The IT recruiter Need to be good at excel, recording, tracking, also good at telephone calls, writing emails, and negotiating.

It will be important to develop current IT staff relations binding our team closer together.

High-level training is provided to ensure the entire approach above is achievable and deliverable.

Tasks and Responsibilities  

  • Coordinate with hiring managers and understand the requirement
  • Lead the creation of a recruiting strategy and interviewing plan for each position
  • Intelligence gathering with internal staff and with every candidate we encounter recording the knowledge and feeding into our database
  • Map the local area market for companies (radius 50 miles) that use the same development technologies we use, record and chart the talent pool, who is in which company, and what we can find out about them
  • Attract applicants by using LinkedIn and direct contacts from intelligence gathering and headhunting. Place job ads, on Newsgroups and job boards for lead development
  • Handle End to End Recruitment Cycle (sourcing, Screening, Interviewing) and Utilise best sourcing techniques to develop and shortlist candidate pool
  • Conduct Phone Screens to qualify the candidates & assess their skills as per project need in terms of candidate's suitability for attitude, academic, experience, & communication skills
  • Evaluate applicants by discussing job requirements and applicant qualifications with managers; interviewing applicants on a consistent set of qualifications
  • Keep your candidate in the loop and take follow-up for interview coordination to till joining
  • Formulating interview schedules, filing reports of candidate's status, recording their joining reports, tracking hiring reports, and maintaining resume database.
  • Keep up to date with new technological trends and products
  • Enter candidate information and updates into our tracking system on a real-time basis
  • Stay educated on current and new and emerging technologies
  • Manage the candidate network by conducting periodic prospective ‘keeping in touch checks’

     

    Essential Skills – Abilities 

    • Highly presentable, confident with excellent in oral & written communications
    • Proven work experience as a Technical Recruiter or Recruiter or in a similar industry
    • Technical expertise with an ability to understand and explain job requirements for IT roles, with a desire to learn more and develop head hunting recruiter skills
    • Able to present reports, progress management and target assessment
    • Solid knowledge of sourcing techniques (e.g. social media recruiting and Boolean search).
    • Powerful skills of persuasion and negotiation
    • Possess strong analytic skills with the ability to create, measure, and scale the right workflow between candidates, hiring managers, and the recruiting team
