Web Designer Job (Ahmedabad, India)

The role

As a Web Designer, you will be responsible for designing and building high-quality, responsive websites and interfaces from the ground up. This is a hands-on role combining strong visual design with solid front-end implementation, working closely with developers, UX, and delivery teams across multiple product and marketing initiatives.

You will be involved in translating designs into clean, maintainable HTML and CSS with a strong focus on performance, accessibility, and visual quality.

Key responsibilities

  • Design and build websites and interfaces using semantic HTML, modern CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Translate designs and mock-ups into high-quality, responsive front-end code.
  • Create visual designs, layouts, and page-level interactions using Figma and supporting design tools.
  • Build layouts without reliance on heavy CSS frameworks, with a strong understanding of core CSS concepts.
  • Ensure cross-browser compatibility, responsiveness, and performance across devices.
  • Work with content management systems to implement and maintain web content.
  • Collaborate with designers, developers, and delivery leads to support shared goals and timelines.
  • Maintain clean, readable code and contribute to shared front-end standards and best practices.

Required skills and experience

  • Strong experience with HTML and CSS, including building responsive layouts from scratch.
  • Confident using Figma, alongside tools from the Adobe Creative Suite where needed.
  • Ability to design and code websites independently, from concept through to delivery.
  • Experience working with content management systems.
  • Familiarity with source control tools such as Git (SVN experience acceptable).
  • Good written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Comfortable working collaboratively within a structured delivery environment.

Nice to have

  • Basic experience with React or Angular, or an interest in modern front-end frameworks.
  • Working knowledge of JavaScript, with experience using Vanilla JS and or jQuery.
  • Familiarity with .NET-based environments or working alongside .NET teams.
  • Experience within the eCommerce domain.
  • Exposure to UI and UX principles, or hands-on experience working with UX designers.
