How your Colour Change Mugs UK are Printed & Made

We print your bespoke designs onto a special layer that reacts to heat, changing from the base colour to white when filled with your hot drink of choice. Only the body of the mug has this layer, so your handle remains blue or black. We package the personalised heat-changing mugs up in their cold state so all you will see is either black or blue when it first arrives. This is ideal if you're creating a custom heat-sensitive mug for a surprise. As the heat sensitive mug is activated, the reveal starts at the bottom and the base colour magically starts to vanish. Please note that the blue or black base colour isn't completely opaque, and the outline of your design might come through slightly, more so if you select blue.

Design Tips

Your unique design wraps around the body of the mug, only leaving a small gap when it reaches the handle. We don't print on the handle of the personalised heat-changing mugs as this could distort your beautiful design. The full height is covered leaving almost no white space at the top or bottom of your mug. A clever idea would be to print a secret message with the first word placed at the bottom, that way the sentence can be read as the custom heat-sensitive mug works its magic. 

As the outline can be seen slightly, we'd suggest opting for designs that feature lighter, more subtle colours. However, it's only slightly visible on the personalised heat-changing mugs and the effect isn't diminished because of this.
