Standard curtains come in fixed sizes that rarely match real windows.The result is curtains that bunch at the sides, fall short of the floor, or let light leak through the edges.

Made to measure curtains are different. You give us your exact width and drop, and we cut and finish every curtain to those measurements. Perfect edges, proper drape, no adjustments needed after delivery.

What Makes a Curtain Truly Bespoke?

Bespoke means you are in control of the full specification, not just the size. At Contrado, you choose the fabric, the heading style, and the lining. You can pick from our collection of curtains or upload your own artwork, photograph, or illustration and have it printed directly onto the fabric.

Every curtain is made in our own studio. We cut, sew, hem, and line each piece by hand. A properly fitted, well-lined curtain keeps warmth in during winter, reduces light bleed, and adds genuine privacy in a way that loose or poorly sized curtains cannot.

Can I use my own artwork on the curtain fabric?
Yes. At Contrado, you can upload your own pattern, and we print it directly onto your chosen curtain fabric. This is one of the core things that sets Contrado apart from standard made to measure curtain services.
What is the difference between made to measure and bespoke curtains?
Made to measure refers to curtains cut to your exact window dimensions rather than standard sizes. Bespoke goes further and covers the full specification including design, fabric, heading, and lining choices. At Contrado, every curtain is both, sized to your window and designed to your brief
How do I measure for made to measure curtains?
Measure the full width of your pole or track, not just the window recess. For the drop, measure from the top of your pole or track ring or hook to where you want the curtain to finish. Common finish points are the windowsill, just below the sill, the floor, or with a small puddle of fabric on the floor. Always use a steel tape measure and double-check before ordering.
Which heading style should I choose?
Eyelet curtains need a pole. Pencil pleat works on poles and tracks. Wave headings require a compatible wave track. Pinch pleat suits formal rooms and hangs beautifully on both. If you are unsure, pencil pleat is the most versatile starting point.
What lining options are available and which should I choose?
Standard lining adds body and protects the face fabric from sun damage. Blackout lining blocks almost all light and is ideal for bedrooms and nurseries. Thermal lining creates an insulating layer that reduces heat loss in winter and heat gain in summer. Voile and unlined options work well in rooms where light filtering rather than blocking is the goal.
