Your custom bowls are available in 4 different sizes and each size has a slightly different shape. The small, square and large round bowls have a thickness of 4mm and the super bowl has a thickness of 6mm. How Your Custom Bowls Are Printed And Made

Made from smooth and hygienic stonemax, your custom bowl is a beautifully crafted piece. Once your design has been entered into the online interface, our print technicians use a specialist method to fuse your print into the material of the bowl. The stonemax is then cut, shaped and moulded into the chosen size and design. Everything is created and finished by hand in the Contrado studios in London. Due to our printing process which ensures a stunning full colour, lasting print, you may find that some of your design bleeds over the edges of your custom made bowl. This will be in the same colouring as your design and gives each bowl a distinct, unique look.



Care Instructions

As your bowl is made from stonemax, it is hygienic and durable. Thanks to its non-porous surface, bacteria can't grow on it, making it easy to clean. In order to preserve the fantastic print quality and shape of your bowl, do not clean it in the dishwasher. Instead, simply dust or wipe your bowl with warm soapy water. This will keep it clean and looking brilliant for years to come.

Design Tips

The square dish option has the most unique shape of any of the bowls. When you design your own bowl using this style, take into consideration the extended outer flat lip. This gives the bowl its stylish shape. To avoid distortion of your artwork, we recommend keeping the main focus within the centre. This is especially important for photo designs.

What are the custom bowls made from?

Your new bowl is made from super hygienic, non-porous stonemax resin. This material does not support germ growth, which makes the bowls safe to hold food. They are also very easy to clean, thanks to their smooth surface.

How many size options of the bowl are there?

You can choose from 4 different sizes of bowls. Each size bowl has a slightly different shape. Small round bowl; 20.5 x 3cm (4mm thick), square dish; 33 x 5cm (4mm thick), large round bowl; 37 x 5cm (4mm thick), super bowl; 39 x 6cm (6mm thick).

Is the print permanent?

When you design your own bowl, you upload the design of your choice, which we then print into the material. The print is long-lasting and HD quality. It will remain crisp and fresh as long as you follow the care instructions above.

    What's the best resolution to print in?

    We print at 200dpi, which is a good combination of quality and file weight. Ideally, your image should be scaled to 100% at 200dpi, this means that no resizing of your file occurs stopping any interpolation.

    Should I save my file as a TIFF or JPEG?

    For multi-coloured or very detailed files we recommend using a tiff format, but they must be flattened. For simple colours and low detail files, a jpeg is fine.

    Which colour model should I choose? RGB or CMYK?

    We advise providing images in the RGB colour space. Specifically using the sRGB image profile, to achieve best colour results. What does this mean? In your editing software choose RGB as the working space, and assign the image profile as sRGB (full name sRGB IEC61966-2.1)

    What does GSM mean?

    Grams per Square Meter (GSM) is an international standard for measuring the weight of paper or fabric. GSM uses the weight of a square meter (1000 x 1000mm) as an indication of the weight and thickness of a given fabric. We class 20-100gsm as light (summer fabrics, gauzes and fine silks), 101-249 gsm as medium (most clothing fabrics) and 250+ gsm as heavy (upholstery fabrics, and other specialist fabrics).

    What are the bleed areas?

    When designing your product, it’s best to make sure that your image is slightly larger than needed. In printing, the extra printed image is referred to as a “Bleed Area” or margin, and it is removed from the finished piece. A bleed area acts as a buffer for slight inconsistencies in the manufacturing process. however, it’s important to fill your bleed areas completely, or you may end up with white, unprinted strips along the edge of your finished product.

    Do you print on garments a customer supplies?

    Unfortunately not. All our garments are printed on flat fabric and sewn into finished products, which gives a better, finished result and all-over print. We test meticulously so that we know what gets the best results on our fabrics, and our facilities cater perfectly to them. We do however print sublimation paper to order, so if you have access to a heat press you can press your fabrics or flat garments easily.

    Can you Align a Pattern or design across panels of a garment?

    We always strive for the greatest accuracy when printing and constructing your garments. However, due to unavoidable stretch or movement of the fabric during the stitching process, we cannot guarantee perfect pattern registration across garment seams. We are generally accurate within 2-3mm, which Is close enough for most patterns but may show slight issues with detailed geometric patterns.

    Can I print my own Labels?

    Most of our garments now come with printable label space for you to add your own company information and branding! If you would like to sew in your own labels, we also offer Printed Fabric Labels here.

  • Eco friendly Printing

    How is your fabric printing eco-friendly?

    With environmental consciousness in mind, our fabrics are all printed using completely water-based inks. This means no chemicals or solvents are used. Our heat fixing procedure fixes the colours and prints, avoiding the downsides of steaming, such as excess or contaminated water returning into the waste system. We have one facility in London where we conduct all the printing, production and fulfillment.

Delivery time & Costs

Production times

We handmake your item on site, which takes on average 1-3 days. Please check individual production times which are displayed next to the item price on the product page, as this varies from product to product. In rare cases when we need to re-print an item, this may take an additional 1-2 days.

Shipping methods

After your item has been manufactured, we ship your order via your chosen method. Please add on the production time to the delivery time to calculate when your order will be with you. Select your delivery method in your basket.

We have a range of trusted shipping options:
  • Royal Mail 1st Class Standard (no tracking) - 1-5 working days on average (please note that this can take up to 15 working days in exceptional circumstances).
  • Royal Mail 1st Class Recorded (no tracking) - Usually delivered the next working day. It is not a guaranteed next day service, or a tracked service. A signature is required. (Please note that this can take up to 15 working days in exceptional circumstances).
  • Special Delivery - Delivered the next working day
  • Saturday Delivery (deliver only on Sat)
  • Collection from our London Office (between 4-6pm on working days only)
  • For international orders or large/bulky packages within the UK, we ship via DHL or Fedex services. This takes on average 2-5 working days.
