About Your Custom Deckchairs
Deckchairs UK handmade and printed are just what your garden needs. Or why not use them as contemporary seating for your lounge? Your new deckchairs will add a big splash of fun and personality to your home, wherever you choose to put them. Your deckchairs are made from FSC certified beech wood, which gives them that classic, British seaside authenticity. Designs are printed onto our thick and durable yet very comfortable canvas fabric. This robust fabric prints beautifully, with small details and fine lines depicted clearly and accurately. It is a very strong textile that will comfortably hold a weight of up to 100kg, and a hip width of 41cm. Your new custom deckchairs fold and stack easily, so they can be stored away when not in use. They fold flat, making them ideal for slotting into tight spaces.

How Your Custom Deckchairs Are Made
The frame of your new deckchair UK made is fashioned from stylish beech wood. This wood has a beautiful pale beige, almost neutral tone, that will complement most designs and colours. The sling of the deckchair is created using our tough but soft canvas fabric. The superior printing quality of canvas is ideal at showcasing your designs and artwork. Colours are vibrant, details are crisp and you will just love the finished result. Once the canvas sling is printed with your design, we sew it with a neat and tidy hem before tacking the sling onto the frame. This creates a sturdy deckchair, that is able to hold weight of up to 100kgs. Replacement slings are available to purchase if you want to mix up your deckchair designs.
Rinse your deckchair and the sling as required. We recommend using mild, soapy water to clean any particularly soiled areas. Rain and water will not affect the long-lasting print.
There are a couple of important factors to consider when designing your own custom deckchairs. The canvas sling has long and thin dimensions, with the print area measuring 114 x 41cm. Take this into account if you are thinking of creating a design with a single image or photograph. If your design does include these factors, we recommend using the preview option to ensure it looks as you want it to. If your image has a long and tall crop, then it should still look good. There are templates available for you to design your own deckchairs online, if you need a little extra help during the process. Enjoy playing around with shapes and dimensions. Repeat patterns always look great, and vibrant tones or more washed out pastels will work beautifully against the beech wood frame.

What's the best resolution to print in?
We print at 200dpi, which is a good combination of quality and file weight. Ideally, your image should be scaled to 100% at 200dpi, this means that no resizing of your file occurs stopping any interpolation.
Should I save my file as a TIFF or JPEG?
For multi-coloured or very detailed files we recommend using a tiff format, but they must be flattened. For simple colours and low detail files, a jpeg is fine.
Which colour model should I choose? RGB or CMYK?
If each individual colour is specifically important to your design, choose CYMK as our setup will print each colour with the closest possible match within our available range. If the relationship between the colours within the image is more important, choose RGB, this will reduce all colours equally to fit within our range.
What does GSM mean?
Grams per Square Meter (GSM) is an international standard for measuring the weight of paper or fabric. GSM uses the weight of a square meter (1000 x 1000mm) as an indication of the weight and thickness of a given fabric. We class 20-100gsm as light (summer fabrics, gauzes and fine silks), 101-249 gsm as medium (most clothing fabrics) and 250+ gsm as heavy (upholstery fabrics, and other specialist fabrics).
What are the bleed areas?
When designing your product, it’s best to make sure that your image is slightly larger than needed. In printing, the extra printed image is referred to as a “Bleed Area” or margin, and it is removed from the finished piece. A bleed area acts as a buffer for slight inconsistencies in the manufacturing process. however, it’s important to fill your bleed areas completely, or you may end up with white, unprinted strips along the edge of your finished product.
Do you print on garments a customer supplies?
Unfortunately not. All our garments are printed on flat fabric and sewn into finished products, which gives a better, finished result and all-over print. We test meticulously so that we know what gets the best results on our fabrics, and our facilities cater perfectly to them. We do however print sublimation paper to order, so if you have access to a heat press you can press your fabrics or flat garments easily.
Can you Align a Pattern or design across panels of a garment?
We always strive for the greatest accuracy when printing and constructing your garments. However, due to unavoidable stretch or movement of the fabric during the stitching process, we cannot guarantee perfect pattern registration across garment seams. We are generally accurate within 2-3mm, which Is close enough for most patterns but may show slight issues with detailed geometric patterns.
Can I print my own Labels?
Most of our garments now come with printable label space for you to add your own company information and branding! If you would like to sew in your own labels, we also offer Printed Fabric Labels here.
How is your fabric printing eco-friendly?
With environmental consciousness in mind, our fabrics are all printed using completely water-based inks. This means no chemicals or solvents are used. Our heat fixing procedure fixes the colours and prints, avoiding the downsides of steaming, such as excess or contaminated water returning into the waste system. We have one facility in London where we conduct all the printing, production and fulfillment.
