It doesn't mean that it is waterproof, however the absorbency means that it will soak up smaller spills and stop them breaching the material and damaging your iPad. Bear in mind as it absorbs the water rather than repels it that if the there is too much moisture it will soak through. This is why we call it water absorbent, rather than waterproof or water resistant.

The custom iPad case is designed to comfortably fit all standard iPad models. This includes iPad 1, iPad 2, iPad 3 and iPad Air. It is not designed for the iPad Mini range, however as the mini iPads are smaller, they will fit in the case, just not snugly. It is also not suitable for the iPad Pro range. This case measures 265 mm x 210mm (approx).

When you make your own iPad case, it will come with a zip fasten. This is stitched into the trim of the case, and extends across the entirety of one of the shorter sides of the rectangular shape to just past the rounded corners.
